The Slovak ISMN Agency is located at the Slovak National Library in Martin and forms part of the Acquisitions Department. It has been operating since May 2000. According to both the Library Act and the Legal Deposit Law, the Slovak National Library is responsible for registering music publications also.
An electronic music publishers database will be established after the implementation of a new library and information system (ALEPH500) which will probably be launched in 2002. So far the registration of music publishers is done in the form of a card catalogue.
