The Australian International Standard Music Number Agency, established in December 2001, is located at the National Library of Australia.
Australian music publishers may request ISMN registration and allocations by mail, fax, email, or via the Internet using a web input form on the Australian ISMN Agency website.
A list of Australian music publishers registered with the Agency is available online through the Australian ISMN Agency website (see below).
The Agency recorded the allocation of an ISMN to 14,203 published music items, including Australian music published on the World Wide Web. 240 publishers have registered with the agency (as of July 2018).
In April 2010, the Agency published the results of a survey on the use of ISMN in Australia.
