A round table meeting for all stock holders in the Ghanaian music industry took place on 22nd March 2001, where they were introduced to the ISMN concept and the advantages of assigning ISMNs to their musical works. After the discussion, they decided to form a Music Publishers Association and contact all choral groups for their music publications.

It came out during the meeting that many music producers do not want to publish their works rather they prefer to sell them to choral groups on a private basisd. Also there are no known printing houses in Ghana with music printing equipment.
